Bocas Town

Bocas del Toro Province, with a population of about 180,000 is located at the western end of Panama on the Caribbean side. We are staying on the archipelago commonly known as Bocas del Toro, on the island of Colon, near Bocas del Toro Town (“Bocas Town” or just “Bocas”) with a population of about 8,000, which includes a lot of American and Canadian expats.

The town has an airport, lots of housing, and a main drag (Calle 3) which, has kind of a Key West feel to it. Lots of tourist traps, but also some nice quiet spots if you wander a bit along some of the water-front side streets. JJ’s at Boca Blended (bottom right) has become a bit of a go-to spot for us (they have great fish and chips as well as cocktails!). About a ten minute bike ride from our place.
